Attorney Mona Chan is the principal lawyer of Law & Associates Law Corporation with expert immigration lawyers, real estate lawyers and business lawyers in Vancouver BC.

Mona's general background is a mosaic of Law, business, technology, and design. Mona studied Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. She furthered her education in Law and Management at Peking University 北京大 and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law from the University of Alberta, British Columbia. She later returned to Vancouver BC to join the Law Society of BC in 2005 and is also an active member of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC.

BACKGROUND:

Raised in Hong Kong and Vancouver, Mona moved to Beijing to start her professional career. Prior to moving to Beijing, Mona owned a venture partnership in a computer manufacturing company. She was also an owner of a clothing design and manufacturing studio based in Vancouver. Having owned and run her own businesses, Mona Chan is known for providing practical and insightful views that benefit her clients from both a legal and business perspective.

In addition to her success, Mona gained international experience working in the private sector with multi-national Motorola in Beijing China. At Motorola, she began in product development and product management and was quickly promoted to management consultant. She delivered seminars on project development to technology and product development executives. As part of her role, Mona was responsible for hiring and consulting for startup projects at Motorola. During her time at Motorola, she had the opportunity to work with government officials in the Canadian Embassy in Beijing.

The Canadian Embassy in Beijing recognized Mona's significant contributions and hired her, making her one of the few immigration lawyers who have worked for Canada Immigration in both Canada and China. She has developed an intimate relationship with the Canadian immigration process and its governing bodies.  Her insight and expertise has been invaluable to the immigration practice at Law & Associates. Mona leads her staff to take pride in providing immigration assistance and legal services to foreign investors, individuals, Canadian sponsors, small businesses, and corporations.

After working internationally for 8 years, Mona returned to Canada and worked for the local BC universities as legal counsel. She moved back to BC and launched Law and Associates Law Corporation to continue her passion for serving her community as an immigration lawyer, real estate lawyer, and business lawyer.

As part of getting re-acquainted with the local business community, Mona decided to work with one of the largest real estate insurance companies, First Canadian Title, where she had the opportunity to help individuals and businesses with real issues that needed legal real estate strategy. Now Mona leads her staff to provide real estate legal services to Canadian home owners and investors.

Mona Chan likes to contribute and give back. She is an active member of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. She is founder and editor of several student publications for her alumni, and is a sponsor and active participant in the Chinese and Canadian community.

On top of her "I love Mondays" attitude, Mona is an active, loving parent to a young pre-school daughter. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, watching the Canucks and having coffee with friends in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.
